My student is a 13 year old girl named Shana. We started talking about what she was interested in she said she like horses and she takes riding lessons. Her favorite horse was the Appaloosa horse and we decided our question would be about where these horses came from. Also who bread these horses. To start I pretty much let her know what we were going to be doing. I let her read the checklist of what we were required to do. At first she was very overwhelmed but we broke it down into days. Since she is a little bit older she is fully capable of doing the research with a little guidance. We figured out our questions then started researching.

I think this is great that Shana already knew about a particular horse she was interested in. I bet she will have fun researching and learning about the Appaloosa horse. This is a great topic!
