SlideShare

Digital Storytelling is used to express and communicate people feeling and opinions through technology. Some examples of the technology you can use is SlideShare, SlideCast, or VoiceThread. You can tell stories with pictures and use voices to tell stories with these tools. Children and Teachers can use these tools in the classroom or lab and at home.

With my unit of making a difference I could use SlideShare, SlideCast, or VoiceThread in the part about protecting the past, securing the present, and impacting the future. We could as a class use VoiceThread to put up pictures and then explain why we used those pictures to answer the question about the past, present, and future. We could also use SlideShare or VoiceThread to do a powerpoint. The student could interview their grandparents or greatgrandparents even parents to describe over the microphone about how life has changed since they were little.
This is my SlideShare I made as an example I would expect from one of my students when answering the question Where I'm From and Where I'm Going.

  1. Thank you so much, i figured it out and now you can check mine out! You have some great ideas to use in your classroom! Allowing grandparents or even parents to participate in a class project is always a great idea! You have a great concept of the subject and have great ideas!

  2. I really like your idea on Slide Share. I think it will be fun for kids to make a family tree. This will also get students to think beyond immediate family names and learn about distant relatives. This is easy for the grade level because it is about themselves and they're family. The only thing that I would change in this project would be the background. I think that if it had a bit more color it would be a bit more attractive. Unless you are using the blank white screen as significance of showing we all start out as a blank slate and our surroundings shape is to who we are.

This is also good because all of the projects will be different. They will all have different houses, career ideas, family members and family trees. This is a project that could be worked on throughout the year by elaborating on the project every so often. This is a great way to show story telling because it is a presentation of their life. The presentation itself tells the story of the students life. All around this is a great presentation and I hope many people can incorporate this idea into their future lesson plans.
